Foil, Arms and Hog have become stalwarts of the Fringe, selling out the huge McEwan Hall year on year. Their viral sketch videos, released weekly, cover a huge range of topics and popular returning characters. They have something of a cult following, and there are many people who come back, year after year, to see their latest month-long residency in Edinburgh.
There are reliable yet still funny aspects to their show: plenty of audience engagement at the start, with Arms and Hog finding the funny amongst the crowd.
The next hour flies by, with sketches and songs, reoccurring characters and references and, of course, the boys pushing each other as far as they can to the point of corpsing. There are some fantastic sketches in this new show, showcasing Foil, Arms and Hog at their very best, including a series of Edinburgh Fringe shows presented by an experimental French theatre troupe.
There are some sketches that perhaps do not land as well as they might; some that tend to be slightly too long. But this is an assured performance from three seasoned-professionals, and their legion of fans will be happy.
